White Rye Flour
Is the foundation of our Wheat Free biscuit varieties. Rye is very low in
saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. It is also a good source of iron,
magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper and selenium, and a very good
source of dietary fiber.

Eggs
Offer a host of vitamins and minerals beneficial to muscles, coat, skin,
and joints. They are also an excellent source of protein, the building
blocks of cells, antibodies, hormones, etc. They also contain essential
amino acids which cannot be synthesized by dogs.

Chopped Dates
Have been consumed for centuries, mainly owing to their nutritional
benefits. Apart from being rich in natural fibers, dates also contain other

nutrients, like calcium, sulfur, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper, and magnesium. They also help in the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestines.

Soybean Oil
Contains no cholesterol. It is rich in polyunsaturated fats, and contains
essential fatty acids which aid in your dog’s absorption of vital nutrients
and protects against skin problems.

Canola Oil
Canola oil contains monounsaturated fatty acids, similar to olive oil, and
omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids like the fats found in flax seed oil. It
may help reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease and will help to
reduce inflammation.

Peanut Butter
One of the foods craved most by many dogs is peanut butter.  Peanuts
are also rich in antioxidants, Vitamin E, and monounsaturated fats.

Cottage Cheese
Is considered a diet food since it is low in fat and high in protein and
calcium.

Parmesan Cheese
Dogs love cheese!  And this great tasting, savory cheese that we use on
our Italian dishes is just as tasty to our canine companions.

Non-Fat Dry Milk
In moderate amounts is easily digestible, high in protein and contains
healthy vitamins & minerals such as B, D, and E, which are necessary to
help strengthen bones, fight anemia, prevent certain forms of dermatitis,
and improve muscle actions. Iodine, a mineral found in milk, helps to
regulate your dogs metabolism.

Carrots
Are also a good source of fiber, vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, K, biotin, and
potassium, all vital nutrients to your dog. Carrots also contain beta-
carotene, which has been found to be very beneficial for the eyes, and
carrots are healthy for skin, hair and bones.

Pumpkin
The bright orange color of pumpkin is a dead giveaway that like the
carrot, it is loaded with the important antioxidant beta-carotene.
Research indicates that a diet rich in foods containing beta-carotene may
reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancer and offers
protection against heart disease. Beta-carotene also offers protection
against certain aspects of aging.

Black Strap Molasses
It’s an excellent source of manganese and copper. It is a very good source
of iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium. In addition, blackstrap
molasses is a good source of vitamin B6 and selenium.

Honey
Contains many essential nutrients including B-complex vitamins. It helps
fight colon cancer, is a natural antiseptic, promotes healing, and is a good
source of energy for your dog.

Yucca Extract
In humans, the Yucca Root is used to treat joint pain, rheumatoid
arthritis, and bursitis. It is also known to increase energy and stamina,
prevent hair loss, and cleanse the colon.

Sea Salt
Small amounts of salt are essential to a dog’s diet. Dogs deficient in salt
may exhibit fatigue, decreased water intake, retarded growth, dryness of
skin and loss of hair. Sea salt contains a distinct mineral that unrefined
table salt lacks.

Parsley
In addition to being a nutritional powerhouse, parsley is abundant in
chlorophyll, which purifies and inhibits the spread of bacteria, fungi and
other organisms. Chlorophyll from parsley is slightly anti-bacterial and
anti-fungal, which will enhance immune response and reduce bad breath.

Why A Vitamin And Mineral Supplement?
It was once believed that a so-called “balanced diet” would provide all of
the vitamins and minerals necessary for good health. However, much of
the soils used to grow crops have been depleted of essential vitamins and
minerals due to generations of farming. Most of these nutrients are not
replaced, either by man or by nature.

Also, minimum nutrient requirements to simply avoid illnesses are not
necessarily what would be needed for optimum health.   By adding a
vitamin and mineral supplement, we are helping to insure that your best
friend is getting the best nutrition possible.

Grandma Bowser’s treats contain no wheat, corn, soy, starch, yeast,
fillers, binders, added sugar, or artificial colors, preservatives, or flavors.
All ingredients are locally sourced and 100% human grade.
